Jejomar Binay, the mayor of Makati said that the public support for the late Corazon “Cory” Aquino should be a warning to GMA not to push for the Charter Change. He said that the procession of people during her funeral shows that our people are really capable of staging another people power if ever the President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo would cling to her power beyond her term as President which will end next year, 2010.

Corazon “Cory” Aquino was laid to rest yesterday at the Manila Memorial Park just right beside her husband, Ninoy Aquino’s grave. It was a very emotional moment from the Manila Cathedral to the procession of her grave which lasts about 7 hours up to the time that her body was laid to rest.

Yesterday at the Buzz, Kris Aquino told her story as she recounts the last days of her mom former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino. She recounts how her mom battles her cancer and how she had suffered up to how her death was so peaceful.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had declared the names of the 7 people who were declared as National Artists for 2009.  The 7 new and proud national artists are Manuel Urbano also known as Manuel Conde for Film and Broadcast, Federico Aguilar Alcuz for Visual artis, sculpture, painting and mixed media, Lazaro Francisco for Literature, Cecilla Guidote-Alvarez for Theater, Francisco Manosa for Architecture, Pitoy Moreno for Fashion Design and Carlo J. Caparas for Visual Arts and Film.

The entire country is in mourning when the favorite and most adored president that our country has ever had passed away on Saturday morning at 3:18 AM. This August 5 would be the day of her private funeral and the president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had declared it as a special non-working holiday so that the Filipinos can all be witnesses to this moment as our beloved former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino would be put to rest at her final resting place beside her late husband Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. at the Manila Memorial Park.

Today, the entire country is in mourning as the first female President of our country had succumbed to her colon cancer. She was 76 years old.

Yesterday the president, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had her 9^th state of the nation address and it’s on the same day that the INC or the Iglesia ni Cristo had celebrated their 95^th year anniversary. The effect? Heavy traffic.
