DOH had announced that the first case of the A(H1/N1) virus is found in the Philippines where a 10-year old girl who arrived from her trip from the United States and Canada had flu-like symptoms the day after she arrived. The test had confirmed that she indeed have the virus which adds the Philippines to the list of infected countries.

Thankfully though, the 10-year-old girl is improving now as stated by the Department of Health who doesn’t reveal the identity of the little girl and where she is confined. Dr. Eric Tayag said that the little girl no longer has cough and fever but still suffer from sore throat.

The 10-year-old Filipina has arrived in the country last May 18, 2009 and the next day she already showed signs of the virus. With quick judgment, she was immediately brought to an undisclosed health facility where she is then checked. Hopefully she haven’t contacted anybody and spread the virus.
