In Jaen Town of Nueva Ecija, the first community wide outbreak was reported. This was confirmed when the Department of Health followed for 2 weeks the 1 students in grade school as well as 1 four year old child had infected about 92 more people with the A(H1N1) virus. 57 more students are still being monitored at the Hilera Elementary School with the possible symptoms of the A(H1N1) virus.
The school was suspended after the initial report of the outbreak and it will be suspended for 10 more days. The municipal health officer as well as the health directors are now discussing about the different ways that the spreading of the virus could be prevented.
The number of infected people in the Philippines with the deadly A(H1N1) virus is rapidly increasing but so far the virus infection is just mild and there is no reported casualty. The virus is now in pandemic alert 6 as declared by the World Health Organization signaling that the virus is now widespread. Thankfully, the virus is not as deadly as first expected and the vaccine is now being produced.
