SONA and 95th celebration of INC caused horrible traffic

Yesterday the president, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had her 9th state of the nation address and it’s on the same day that the INC or the Iglesia ni Cristo had celebrated their 95th year anniversary. The effect? Heavy traffic.

July 27, 2009 is SONA Day

Tomorrow is declared a no-school day in Metro Manila due to the State of the Nation Address of our President Arroyo and also because tomorrow is going to be the grand anniversary of Iglesia ni Cristo.
The Commission on Higher Education had decided to cancel classes on all levels tomorrow as it is expected that there would be heavy traffic caused by the Iglesia ni Cristo celebration of their 95th year which means that it is to be expected that many Iglesia ni Cristo members from different provinces would be coming to Manila to celebrate this day.

yellow ribbonWe all know that former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino is battling with stage 4 colon cancer and the family is now prepared that she will eventually succumbed and go back to our Lord Creator. They just want her to not be in pain as it’s heartbreaking for them to see their beloved mother in pain and not eating.

The Fil-Am Activist who said was abducted last May had already testified yesterday on the Commission on Human Rights as she recalls her torment on the 6-day ordeal where she said she had seen the faces of her abductors who she said she could still recognize the next time she sees them again.

Filipinos witnessed Partial Solar Eclipse

Asia enjoys the glimpse of the solar eclipse and millions have come and witness this great phenomenon of the sky. In the Philippines, we only witnessed a partial solar eclipse but in several Asian countries they witnessed a full solar eclipse. Japan saw the day turn to darkness in this century’s longest solar eclipse.

Sad News: 10 OFWs dead from Chopper Crash in Afghanistan

OWWA had confirmed that 10 Overseas Filipino Workers had died from a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. 16 had died from the said crash and 10 of these are Filipinos. Some of these Filipino workers’ families are shocked that their loved ones had died from the said chopper crash when all the while they thought their loved ones are working elsewhere. One particular worker was working in Afghanistan when his family thought he was deployed in Dubai.
It is feared that they are undocumented since there is a travel ban in the Philippines to Afghanistan but still, the Department of Foreign Affairs will do their best to give assistance for the workers and for their bodies to be sent back to the country after they have been recovered from the crash site.

Ara Mina reacted to the situation of her sister Cristine Reyes. She said that her sister can be too much to handle and she hopes that she won’t be following the likes of Hollywood stars such as Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan just because of one man.
