At last the Pacquiao vs Mayweather mega fight that nobody wanted to see for now is finally dead due to some blood feud, it’s time to get down to some real boxing action. Well, the fighters have changed but the game remains the same. I thought at the first place it was Paulie Malignaggi whose going to fight by Manny Pacquiao. I don't like it either, I don't like the big and loud mouth malignaggi is the next opponent of Pacquiao because it was a total mismatch. And now it was decided that the last contender is Joshua Clottey. The next opponent of Manny Pacquiao. Clottey is no supersonic-breasted villain in a Wapakman movie. He shows up ready to tangle the Pacman. The Grand Master Clottey has a record of 35-3 with 20 KOs. He is a tough, physical fighter who stalks his opponents behind a tight, high-handed defense. The Grand Master Clottey is a quick-fisted, accurate counter puncher with an excellent left hook. And he has a good jab when he decides to use it. He’s managed to win a few fights, too. He beat Zab Judah via a nine-round technical decision in 2008 and had a dominating win on points over a beefed-up version of the late Diego Corrales in 2007. Though lost to Cotto on a split decision last June 2009. Now let's talk the Filipino fighter named Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2-38 KOs) who has been on a bit of a roll. Last November fight with Miguel Cotto, after a competitive first five rounds that saw Manny drop Cotto twice, Pacquiao reached cruising speed and began to dominate, winning by 12th-round TKO. Pacquiao is a very fast-handed, hard-punching left-hander. He uses rapid in-and-out and side-to-side movement to set up hard punches from angles that may have made Einstein rethink his work. The story of the Pacquiao vs Clottey fight is going to be about whether Clottey’s pressure and counter punching can overcome Pacquiao’s foot speed and quick-handed, sharp-punching attacks. Trying to penetrate Clottey’s guard is like trying to get near one of Pacquiao’s veins with a needle—no easy task, even for someone with the speed and offensive capabilities of Pacquiao. Clottey is fighting for the title and not for the money. At the same time, Pacquiao is not going to be there for Clottey to hit either. Clottey will have his moments along the way. But being light on power, he won’t be able to do enough damage or land a high enough volume of punches to slow Pacquiao to the point of submitting to his pressure game. Their fight will be held at the State of the Art $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas on March 13, 2010 and it was dubbed as Pacquiao vs Clottey: The Event.
