Poll Automation Back on Track

Smartmatic and Total Information Management had finally ended their dispute and they are now back on track to make the 2010 elections automated so there won’t be any more manual tally of votes thus minimizing or completely eliminating vote stealing or alteration.
The Comelec Chairman had announced yesterday that Smartmatic and TIM ironed out their differences with regards to the funds for the poll automatic project that is worth P11.2 billion!
Everybody were nervous when the two who won the bid for poll automation suddenly had a dispute that jeopardizes the planned poll automation for next year’s election. Thankfully, everything’s back on track now and we should be expecting our election for next year to be modernized as we are far behind from other countries who are already doing poll automation.
Now we don’t need to wait 2 months to get the election results but in just 3 days we could already declare who won! This is definitely long overdue but finally, it’s within the reach of Filipinos. Chairman Jose Melo does not want to give details but he only said that the poll automation is now definite. Smartmatic and TIM still have some things to iron out but it’s now just up to them to make the settlement. It should no longer be a public issue but private and we should now leave it up to them to settle things.
