Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) presidential bet Joseph Estrada expressed disbelief on the latest Social Weather Station (SWS) survey yesterday, showing him still in third place in the presidential race in the May 10 elections.

"I don’t believe that," Estrada said following a press conference in Mandaluyong City when asked for his response on the most recent SWS survey. The polls revealed Liberal Party bet Sen. Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III is way ahead his closest rival Nacionalista Party’s Sen. Manny Villar Jr with double digit lead.

The survey, which was carried out from April 16 to 19, revealed that Estrada is immovable in third place with a 17-percent preference rating — a two-percentage point drop from his 19-percent rating a month ago.

Volunteers for Gibo founder Andrew Masigan has affirmed that Lakas Kampi frontrunner Gibo Teodoro is no longer just the ruling party’s standard-bearer but the ‘people’s candidate.’ This was his reaction after several defections were reported from the ranks of the said party.

“The composition of the party (Lakas-Kampi-CMD) can change, the members can change, the leadership can change, but the volunteers and the people who ardently support Gibo are here not because of the Lakas party, or other politicos under Lakas. We’re here for Gibo and for what he stands for,” said Masigan.

“Gibo represents new politics. In new politics, principles, honor and loyalty, plans and programs reign supreme over money, patronage, and power preservation,” he added.

Food prices have always been a constant national issue. Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gilbert Teodoro Jr. and Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Senator Manny Villar are closing in on surpassing candidate Benigno Aquino III of the Liberal Party.

This was revealed last Monday by survey group StratPOLLS, Inc. which organized its survey from January 16 to 22, 2010. Based on the returns of the survey Aquino is on leading with 36 percent, followed by Villar, 26 percent; former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada of the Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), 15 percent; and Teodoro, 11 percent, said Prof. Alberto S.
