Transport Strike felt today

The increase in fuel prices from the 3 giant oil firms Petron, Shell and Chevron prompted PISTON or the Pinag-Isang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytors Nationwide to declare a transport strike today hoping to have at least 80% paralysis in mass transport in Metro Manila.

Several transport groups had agreed to join in on the transport strike that does not only include Metro Manila but other regions in the Philippines such as Southern Tagalog, Cebu, Panay, Baguio, Davao, Guimaras and General Santos City.

Piston representative said that they did not convince ACTO and Fejodap to join in on the transport strike as they are obviously on the side of the government but even so, the transport strike had been quite successful.
