Willie Revillame is on a hot seat right now after he voiced out his opinion about the live video streaming of the cortege for Corazon “Cory” Aquino. On his show in Wowowee, he said that it doesn’t seem nice that on his noontime show where everybody’s enjoying then the footage of Aquino’s cortege is also simultaneously being aired. He asked the crew to turn off the video streaming. Here’s exactly what he said on his show in Wowowee.

Hindi siguro magandang tingnan na pinapakita niyo yan. Nagsasaya kami tapos pinapakita niyo yung, I don't think dapat ipakita yan.

Eh mahihirapan akong magsalita rito. Nagpapasaya ako nakikita ko ‘yung ano ni Tita Cory. Sana pakitanggal naman muna ‘yan sa ating traffic. Kasi kung ganyan pakita nalang natin ‘yan kasi nagsasaya kami dito tapos masakit sa akin yan. Nagsasalita ako dito yan Pls, sana maintindhan niyo, nagsasaya kami dito papakita niyo sa amin yun. Diba? Hindi tama eh okay?

Hay nako. Pangit. Hindi maganda ho sa atin nagsasalita pinapakita yung kabaong ni Tita Cory. Diba? Paano kami magkakapagsaya nahihirapan kami? I'm sorry ho ah pero ako totoo ako eh. ‘Wag niyo akong papagalitan...Pagkatapos ng show pakita niyo ‘yung gusto niyong ipalabas. Kasi itong Wowowee gusto ko at alam din ni Tita Cory ‘yan kasi napasaya din siya ng show na ito na laging masaya dito. Okay?

The representative of the Aquino family already said their side and said they didn’t like what Willie Revillame said. Now, the MTRCB chairperson said that he violated the code of ethics of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas or KBP. He could have just stated his opinion about the airing of Cory Aquino’s cortege off-air and not when he was going on live.  Now, Willie’s action is getting negative reactions from a lot of people. An online petition at PetitionOnline had over 16,000 signatures already for ousting him from his show. Some said that he should be taught a lesson. The National Press Club as well as the Alyansa ng Filipinong Mamahayag also was dismayed with Revillame’s statement.

MTRCB and KBP are going to meet and discuss about Revillame and what possible actions to take against him. Willie Revillame had made an apology the day after. He said sorry to the Aquino family and said that he has no bad intention with what he said.
